About DJ M.I.P.

CURRENT TRACK
DJ M.I.P. is a semi-professional Australian DJ, producer and Retro Remixer based in the Riverina region of New South Wales.
Known for combining retro influences with contemporary remixing and production techniques, DJ M.I.P. focuses on giving classic sounds a new life. His musical interests span dance, electronic music, radio culture and the music of previous decades, with an emphasis on creating remixes that remain recognisable while introducing a fresh sound and personality.
Behind DJ M.I.P. is Sean Campbell, an experienced community radio broadcaster and Mental Health Advocate.
Sean is currently a broadcaster with the Mentally Interrupted Community Network, an online radio and television network focused on mental health awareness, lived experience, recovery stories, music, talk programming and community broadcasting.
His broadcasting background includes previous roles with Triple U FM in Nowra, QBN-FM in Queanbeyan and 2AAA FM in Wagga Wagga. These experiences helped shape his approach to music, presentation and connecting with audiences through radio.
Music and Retro Remixing
As a Retro Remixer, DJ M.I.P. takes inspiration from the music, sounds and production styles of earlier generations and reinterprets them for modern listeners.
His work is influenced by the era of classic radio, vinyl, early electronic music, dance culture and remix experimentation. Rather than simply reproducing older styles, his aim is to combine nostalgia with modern production and introduce familiar musical ideas in a different context.
For DJ M.I.P., remixing is about respecting the character of the music while exploring what it can become through new beats, arrangements and production techniques.
Mental Health Advocacy
Mental health advocacy is also a major part of DJ M.I.P.’s identity.
Sean lives with Schizoaffective Disorder and openly incorporates his lived experience into his work as a broadcaster, artist and advocate.
Through music and media, he aims to encourage more open conversations about mental health, challenge stigma and demonstrate that people living with serious mental health conditions can continue to create, contribute and pursue meaningful goals.
His advocacy focuses strongly on lived experience, recovery and allowing people with mental health challenges to tell their own stories rather than having those stories defined entirely by others.
Broadcasting and Mentally Interrupted
Sean’s broadcasting work continues through the Mentally Interrupted Community Network, where music, community broadcasting and mental health awareness come together.
The network provides a platform for programming around mental health, recovery, talk radio, disability-related content and music, while also creating opportunities for people with lived experience to participate in broadcasting and media.
DJ M.I.P.’s music projects form another part of that wider creative direction, bringing together his interests in radio, remixing, production and mental health advocacy.
Whether behind a microphone or working on a new mix, DJ M.I.P. represents the intersection of retro music, community broadcasting and lived-experience advocacy.
